Debra "Debbie" Costas, age 69, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 at the Alameda Care Center in Perth Amboy, NJ.  Debbie succumbed to breast cancer after being diagnosed recently. She was born on November 13, 1955 to the late Peter and Gladys Kawka. Debbie was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. Debbie lived a challenging life but was genuinely kind, caring, and generous. She loved good food to cook and eat. Debbie loved to also talk about food and would always ask what you were cooking or eating. She lived the best life she could under difficult circumstances with her husband Billy until his passing.

Debbie is predeceased by her beloved husband, William (Billy) Costas, and her nephew Matthew Kawka.

Surviving Debbie are her siblings along with their spouses, Gary and Carolyn Kawka, and Wesley and Ghislaine Kawka; her niece, Meghan Burton; and her nephews Gary Kawka and Randy Kawka.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
