Obituary

Deacon Salvatore J. Gagliano, 80, of Mechanicsburg, PA, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Lodi, NJ, was formerly a resident of Fords, NJ, for 40 years, and has resided in Mechanicsburg since 2005.

Deacon Salvatore served at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ, from his Deaconate Ordination with the Diocese of Metuchen in June of 1989 until January of 2005. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Mechanicsburg, PA. He graduated from Lodi High School with the Class of 1949, received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY, then obtained his Master's degree in Business Administration at St. John's University in Queens. He achieved his Certificate of Ministry at The College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ.
He was a member and Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, St. Michael's Council in Lodi, NJ, and also was a member of the Our Lady of Peace Council K of C. He also was a 4th Degree Knight in Lodi, NJ. He served in the US Army. He she was a retired Senior Systems Analyst with AT&T in Piscataway.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Frances C. Gagliano, his three sons: Salvatore, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Lopatcong, NJ; Robert A. and his wife, Dawn, of Hackettstown, NJ; and Christopher and his wife, Cindy, of Arlington, VA; his three daughters: Terry Anne of Edison, NJ; Rosalie L. and her companion Michael Pietrak of Enola, PA; and Mary F. Hutnick and her husband, Stephen, of Kendall Park, NJ; his 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a niece, Maryann Muto of Lodi.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, January 21, at 9:30 am from the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi, NJ.
