Deacon Noe Cortez, 69, of Avenel, passed away on March 10, 2026, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  Noe was born in San Salvador, El Salvador to Angel and Carmen Cortez on November 11, 1956.  He was a Supervisor for Strato Corporation and retired after 20+ years.  Noe also attended St. Elizabeth's University and received a BA in Theology and was ordained as a Deacon of Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, La Asuncion Church Perth Amboy in 1998.

As a devoted servant of the lord he was a man of profound faith. He touched the lives of so many and brought incredible compassion understanding and a love to all who knew him. He also loved soccer, which he played often as a younger man.

Noe is survived by his loving wife, of 39 years, Epifania "Eppie" Cortez; his loving daughters, Melissa Cassidy and her husband, Mark, and Diana Alvarez and her husband, Robin; a loving "Papa" to five grandchildren, Nina, Robin Jr., Gianna, Lorena, Camilla; three sisters, Marieta Rochinsky, Francesca Cortez, and Marisela Jablonski; two nieces, Jennifer and Michelle Rochinsky; and two nephews, Bruce and Kenneth Jablonski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords and from 9-10 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Holy Trinity Church, Perth Amboy.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Holy Trinity Church, Perth Amboy followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Piscataway.
