David Joseph Swanick Sr.'s Obituary
David Joseph Swanick Sr., 80, of Fords, passed away at home on March 13, 2016. He was born on March 28, 1935 and had resided in Fords his entire life. He was a retired Electrical Engineer from Johnson and Johnson. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the USS Ticonderoga Veteran's Association. David was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing and taxidermy.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Swanick, of Fords; two daughters, Deborah Vroom and her husband, John, of New London, PA,and Wendy Snee, of Fords; three sons, David Swanick Jr., and his wife, Ruth, of CT; Darryl Swanick and his wife, Elly, of FL; and Darren Swanick of Los Angeles; and six grandchildren: Chris, John, Jason, Bridget, Joseph and Danny.
Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Friday 10 am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. A committal service will be offered in the chapel at Rosehill Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Wildlife Foundation.
