Daniel J. Jensen, 90, formerly of Edison, New Jersey and recently of Zebulon, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at the WakeMed Hospital, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey, Daniel lived most of his life in Edison, New Jersey prior to moving to Zebulon, North Carolina in May of 2025.

Daniel retired from Total Tec Systems in 1997 as a facilities manager. Prior to Total Tec Systems, Daniel was the owner and operator of Airo Space Heating and Cooling of Edison. Daniel began his career as a serviceman for the Elizabethtown Gas Company of Rahway, New Jersey for 22 years.

Daniel was pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Sarah Jensen and his brother, Edward Jensen.

Daniel leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Janice Elaine (nee: Demcoe) Jensen, his four beloved children, Jennifer Turbitt and her husband Frederick of Edison, Daniel Jensen of Edison, David Jensen and his wife Maria of Colonia, New Jersey, Rebecca Lipnick and her husband Christopher of Zebulon, North Carolina, his two grandchildren Thomas Turbitt, his wife Kailey and great-grandson Brixton Turbitt of Spring Hope, North Carolina and Jonathan Turbitt and his wife Ashley of Edison. Daniel is also survived by his sister Mary Jensen of Whiting, New Jersey, his brother John Jensen of Gulf Port, Florida, sister-in-law Carole Demko of Toms River, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews, to whom he was affectionately known as "Uncle Danny."

An avid New York Yankees fan, Daniel was also a creative and inventive artist, who regularly participated in numerous craft fairs in his home state of New Jersey.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm, at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, New Jersey 08863, with a funeral service on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at 12:15 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery 703 Amboy Avenue, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861.
