Craig Richard Eckel, 54, of Edison, died unexpectedly on Monday September 26, 2022.

Craig was born on a chilly day in April at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, he was the apple of his parents' eyes. Growing up, Craig was an outgoing child blooming into the theater life. He was a member of the Edison high school Drama Club, a good clarinet player, a wonderful Cub Scout, and he took much joy acting for the Plays-In-The-Park, in Edison. After graduating high school, he attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken where he received his bachelor's in computer engineering. Later in life, Craig moved to San Diego California to pursue his career further, working for Financial Database Services as an IT Manager for many years before coming home to New Jersey to be with his parents.

He is survived by his loving parents, Donald W. Eckel Jr., and Carole Eckel. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Eckel III and wife, Kim; and his nephew, Christopher. Craig also leaves behind many extended relatives and close friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday October 9, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue Metuchen, NJ 08840. A time of sharing will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Craig's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choice. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
