Corey Roberts, 25, passed away on May 12, 2022.

The visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00 pm, and where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:00am.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am in St. James Catholic Church, 145 Grove St., Woodbridge, NJ.  Corey will be laid to rest next to his father in St. Gertrude Cemetery Mausoleum.

Corey was an integral part to the people in his life.  He was a dear son to Geri Roberts; brother to Sarah Roberts, Nicole Salerno and her husband Stephen, and Shawn Roberts and his wife Melissa; an uncle and Godfather to Alivia, Gia, Antonio, Franco, and Gionni; a special cousin to Angelina, and faithful friend to Jonathan Vives who was like a brother to him.  Corey also leaves behind to miss him is his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Corey was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Roberts in 2020.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandma "Wizzy," Uncle Ron, and his dearest Aunt Dee just passed away in March.

A young life is gone too soon.  Corey had a bright future ahead of him. He was gifted with a kind soul that the world lost and can never replace. He was a humbled young man that put his own feelings aside to help others and protect the weak.  Corey lit up the room with his presence and beautiful heart.  He cherished the simple things in life and never judged anyone.  He truly believed that everyone deserved a second chance. His empathy and compassion was extraordinary. He had an exceptional way of being able to put himself in other peoples' shoes. Most days you would see him wearing his silly, crazy shirts that made everyone laugh. However, he took pride in getting dressed up for fancy events every opportunity he had.

Corey's passing is an overwhelming loss to his loving family and friends.  He will be remembered in so many ways that he impacted those he knew.  Most importantly he was blessed with the love of family.  He really enjoyed the family get-together's and playing with his nieces and nephews. Since he was older than most of them, he was often the one guilty of getting the younger kids riled up. Of course, like most people in his age group, he loved playing video games, binging Netflix and "quoting movie lines. He especially enjoyed all things that involved martial arts and fighting like WWE, UFC and MMA. He and his "soul mate" and best friend Angela Meade were often either off on all sorts of hiking and outdoor adventures, or just "quick chillin' some tunes."  Since Corey was a young man just starting out in the career world, he was especially proud to be a part of the staff at JJ Bittings Brewery in Woodbridge since 2016.

Corey was a precious soul. His loss will affect everyone he knew during his brief time on this earth. While we are grateful for the gift of his presence our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and emptiness of his absence.
