Consuelo (nee: Soto) Cruz of Edison passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011 at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was 86 years old. Born in Puerto Rico, she was a resident of Edison for 14 years.

Consuelo retired in 1996 after 6 years of teaching at Nuestros Ninos School in Brooklyn, NY. She was also a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen.

She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Katie Lee Krauss (2003). Surviving is her husband of 65 years, Miguel A. Cruz; a son, Pedro A. Cruz and daughter-in-law Cynthia Mendoza-Garcia of Hackensack; a daughter, Sonia D. Krauss of Metuchen; a grandchild, Jennifer L. Greco; and two great-grandchildren, Valentina and Catarina.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 9:30 AM from FLYNN AND SON/KOYEN FUNERAL HOME, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 followed by a 10:15 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
