Obituary

Constantino "Joe" Loffa, 82, of Edison died September 12, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Elizabeth and had resided in Edison for the past 59 years. "Joe" was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #701 North Brunswick, the New Jersey Teamsters Retirees Club, and the Central New Jersey Teamsters Retiree Club. He was a communicant of St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison. He was a truck driver for Carolina Freight Inc., Linden, for 38 years before retiring in 1988.

Constantino is predeceased by his sisters Rose Marie Bravo and Carol Balboa. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Loffa; his two sons, Michael A. Loffa of Edison and Constantino "Stan" Loffa of Peosta, Iowa; his daughter, Jo Lloyd of Sebastian, FL; his 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his 3 brothers: Angelo Loffa of Keystone, FL, Vincent Loffa of Ft. Dix, and Anthony Loffa, Jr. of Roselle; his 2 sisters: Mary Renda of Colonia, and Katherine Monaco of Scotch Plains, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 9:00 AM from the FLYNN AND SON/KOYEN FUNERAL HOME, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. A private cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 5-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Haven Hospice Unit at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
