Clare Boland Watson, 74, of Edison, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family, daughter of James Michael Boland and Roseanna Clinton Boland.

In 1967, Clare married her husband, together since the summer of 1964. Larry Watson. While raising her three children, Clare earned her Associate's degree in Accounting.  She worked in the accounting department at Rutgers University until her retirement.  Clare loved the beach, camping, a good game of Scrabble, and her weekly card games with her friends. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and a loyal friend.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Larry Watson.  Surviving are her sisters Paula Boland and  Maryrose Coburger and brother-in-law Richard Coburger; daughter Debbie Newcomer and her husband Steve Newcomer; daughter Lori Ramsey and her husband Charles Ramsey, son George Watson, her four grandchildren:  Courtney and Melissa Newcomer, Summer and Mason Ramsey; her niece and nephew, Joy and Jason Coburger; and many beloved friends and family.

Family and friends may visit Monday, February 8, 2021, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen. All will gather for the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 81 Seymour Avenue, Edison. Private cremation will follow. A Celebration of Clare's life will be held at a future date when all will be able to gather in safety.
