Claire Rose Davis 88, of Cary, NC, died peacefully May 12, 2016, at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City and was formerly of Iselin before moving to NC, 4 ½ years ago.

Claire was a Cafeteria aide with the Edison Board of Education for 26 years before retiring in 2001.

She was predeceased by her husband Hugh M. Davis in 1991, and her siblings Rose Summers and her husband Edward, John Ward and his wife Helen, Thomas, Joseph, and Edward Ward, her niece Donna Pujat and nephew Jimmy Ward. Claire is survived by her children Gary Davis of Avenel, and Glenn Davis of Iselin, Barbara A. McCann of Cary, NC, Joanne D'Amico of Edison. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Dawn, Chrissy, Tara, Joseph, Philip, Kevin, and Nicole, six great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Phyllis Ward, Carol Ward Metzger, and Kathy Ward and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 pm to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
