Claire H. Bennett 95 of Metuchen entered into eternal rest, May 14, 2017 at the Bey Lea Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Toms River.  She was born in NYC and has resided in Metuchen for 46 years.

Claire was a renowned oil and watercolor artist, painting for over 50 years, receiving statewide and even international awards.  She was a member of the Miniature Art Society of NJ, the Suburban Artists Guild and was past president of the Clark Art Assn.

Active in many local Jewish organizations, she was also a long time member of Cong. Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy, and a past president of Hadassah there.

Claire was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward in 1999, and her siblings Bernard Bitterman and Sylvia Lensky.  She is survived by her sons David an attorney in Metuchen, and Bryce a licensed Landscape Architect and his wife Maggie of Toms River, and her adored grandchildren Rachel of Boston, and Samuel of Denver, CO.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy.  Interment will be in Beth Israel Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to Cong. Beth Mordecai.  224 High St, Perth Amboy, 08861.
