Christine J. Olexa (nee: Vella), 84, of Metuchen, passed away on April 22, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison.

She was born in Bronx, NY and has resided in Metuchen for the past 62 years.

Christine worked for 30 years as a teller for the First National State Bank in Fords.

She was a member of the American Legion Post # 471 in Iselin, and an avid bowler at Majestic Lanes in Hopelawn and loved going to Bingo and the casino.

Christine was predeceased by her grandson, John in 2012.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael G., her son Michael J. of Iselin, her daughter; Gail Egan and her husband Craig of Woodbridge, Carole Russo and her husband Robert of Sewaren, her grandchildren; Brian, Craig, Eric, Annie, Alyssa, her great-grandchildren; Christian, Kaylee, Sean, Sophia, her sister, Rita Williams and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10 AM at Flynn and Son Funeral, 23 Ford Ave., Fords with a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Interment will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

Viewing will be Tuesday 4-8 PM
