Chris D. Carlson, 67, of Fords, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy. Mr. Carlson was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Gerald and the late Charlotte Carlson and had previously lived in Princeton before moving to Fords twenty four years ago. He was employed by Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare in Piscataway for ten years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of New Jersey / Middlesex County Retired Education Association. Chris graduated from Princeton High School and Trenton State University with a degree in Registered Nursing, He also was an instructor in the Middlesex County VO-TEC High School.

Chris was predeceased by his brother, Joel Carlson.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Frank J. Zaremba PhD: one sister, Elaine Seldner of Millstone and a niece, Tracy Diefenbach of Ashville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Private cremation will follow at the Rosehill Crematory in Linden. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 .
