Chester Kinal 84, of Fords, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Perth Amboy and has resided in Fords for the past 58 years.
Chester worked as a laboratory technician at Union Carbide in Bound Brook for 39 years before retiring in 1989. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords. Chester participated in the Senior Olympics in Softball on a national level since 1993 and was the N.J. Chairman and co-founder of the Senior Olympics in Woodbridge in 2007. He was always very active in Woodbridge being a founding and charter member of the senior billiards club, a member of the Fords and Keasbey senior citizens, AARP, and very involved with the Fords Clara Barton Boys Baseball League.
Chester served his country during WW II in the Navy on the USS Shangri-La CV-38 and after his discharge he became a member of the Clara Barton American Legion post #324 in Edison.
Chester is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Bak Kinal, to whom he has been married to for 61 years. He is also survived by his children, Roseann Raspitzi and her husband, Peter of Avenel; Lynn Dandola and her husband, Stephen of Edison; Albert and his wife, Susan of Hilton Head, SC; eight grandchildren: Peter and his wife Elise, Paul, Joseph, Thomas, Christopher and his wife, Jennifer, Vanessa, Diane, and Michele; two great-grandchildren, Campbell and Peter; and his two sisters, Hedwig Narlesky of Boonsville, NY and his twin, Jeanette Franko of Metuchen.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 8:30 am at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 9:00 am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Fords and Keasbey seniors will pay their respects Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
