Cheryl (Wessel) Anderson, 66, of Cape May, passed away peacefully in her home on September 28, 2013. Born in New Brunswick, Cheryl lived most of her adult life in the Metuchen-Edison area.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, L. Keith Anderson. Cheryl spent every summer enjoying the Jersey Shore and upon retirement she and Keith moved to Cape May, NJ.

Cheryl is also survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Flachs Benedict and her husband Jim of WI and Laura Wessel Darrah and her husband Patrick of Edison. Her brother Nelson Birch and his wife Maria E. live in FL. She has two grandchildren, Sean William and Tyler Elizabeth.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, William Wessel Jr. Cheryl and Bill raised their family in Metuchen and owned a small business. She was involved in the local community, a Sunday school teacher, active member of the PTA, and when the girls left for college, worked as a Legal Secretary and Realtor in town.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 10:30 am at the Flynn and son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
