Obituary

Charles P. Kabarec, Jr., 56, a life-long resident of Perth Amboy, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at his sister's home in Metuchen.

He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Perth Amboy, Class of '73 and earned his B.S. Degree from Kean University. Charles was an Accountant with The Louis Berger Group Inc. in East Orange for over 18 years. He was a person of deep and abiding faith. He was a member and past officer of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Perth Amboy, a passionate animal lover, and an avid fan of Duke Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. Charles bowled, and played softball with the A.O.H. for many years in Perth Amboy and was a WW II history buff.

Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Margaret Kabarec. He is survived by his two sisters, Rose Mary Horne and her husband Neil, of Westfield and Catherine Mc Hugh and her husband Lawrence, of Metuchen; his two nieces, Cheryl Wilkinson of Scotch Plains and Caroline McHugh of Metuchen; his nephew, Neil Horne, Jr. of Westfield; his devoted friend, Margaret Chambers; two aunts, Mary Logan and Ann Denes, and many loving cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 10 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. James Church in Woodbridge. A private cremation will follow. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers , contributions may be made in his/memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or The Woodbridge Animal Shelter Volunteers.
