Catherine Slusarek, (nee Pietrusiewicz), 72, of Edison, died April 23, 2013, at Haven Hospice in JFK Medical Center.

Born in Jersey City on November 25, 1940, she has resided in Edison for the last 50 years. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi. She was a homemaker. Catherine was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. She was a member of Friends of the Library in Edison and enjoyed baking and calligraphy.

Catherine was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Pietrusiewicz. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Peter Slusarek of Edison; son, Mark Slusarek of Edison; two daughters, Lisa Johnston and her husband Michael of Lutherville, Md.; Christine Slusarek of Bolder, CO; brother, Frank Pietrusiewicz of Del Monte, CA; and three granddaughters: Morgan, Madeline, and Paige.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 8:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
