Catherine (Patterson) Herbster, 101, died February 21, 2011, at Cherry Hill Manor Nursing Home in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Born in Alpha, New Jersey, Catherine lived most of her life in Elizabeth. She also resided in Fords and Edison before her move to Rhode Island in 1996.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Herbster, in 1989; her sons: Joseph and Robert Herbster; her daughter, Irene Ward; and 12 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Capaldo and son-in-law Robert of Smithfield, RI; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 11:00 AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Burial will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
