Obituary

Catherine A. Gramness (nee Burns) was born on December 3,1920. She died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at The Gardens at Monroe in Monroe Township.

She was born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where she graduated from Saint Mary's High School. She resided in New Brunswick for over seventy (70) years prior to moving to Monroe Township two years ago. Catherine worked as a Telephone Operator for over twenty years with A.T. & T. in New Brunswick. She is the wife of the late Phillip Gramness of New Brunswick who passed away in 1994.

Catherine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ella (nee Murdock) Burns, sister of the late Genevieve Kelly and her husband Jerome, and sister-in-law of the late Sophie Burns and Kathy Caladie and her husband, John.

Catherine is survived by her baby brother, Joseph H. Burns and many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.

The viewing shall take place at the Flynn & Son Funeral / Mitruska Funeral Home located at 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, New Jersey, on Saturday, November 15,2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30AM. We will be leaving at the conclusion of the viewing for an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Rosary Church of the Good Shepherd Parish located on Florida Grove Road, Woodbridge. She will rest in eternal peace with her husband, Phillip, at Saint Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
