Carolyn Rossi, 89, died on October 18, 2024, at Rose Mountain Care Center in New Brunswick.

She was born in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1953. She then moved to Carteret, where she lived until 2022.

Miss Rossi assisted in her family's insurance business and lavished great attention and love for her cats since adopting her first feline in 1973. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, working in her yard and tending to her flower gardens and owned a vast record album and movie video collection. She was the author of a book of poetry and wrote a stage play that was produced in New York City in 1971. She was the unofficial family historian, having amassed a great number of family documents, photographs and other memorabilia.

She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness, especially toward her nieces and nephews, as well as her creative holiday and birthday gifts, her knowledge of old movies and Broadway shows and her backyard swimming pool that was always popular during the summer months.

Miss Rossi was predeceased by her parents, Fred B. Rossi, Sr. and Erwine Bauer Greenwald. She is survived by her brother, Fred B. Rossi, as well as nephews Fred T. Rossi and William Rossi and nieces Dale Rossi Cassidy and Maria Rossi Bork along with grand-niece Selia Linowes and grand-nephews Jeremy Linowes and Evan Rossi.

Funeral services will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen.
