Carolyn A. "Carrie Lynne Callahan" Gougeon, 61, of Hopelawn, passed on Sunday, August 31, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded with the love of her family at her side. She was born in Elizabeth and was formerly of Hillside and Kenilworth before moving to Hopelawn 20 years ago.
Carolyn was a former accountant with various firms including Chase Manhattan Mortgage in Iselin. She was also a singer and entertainer, performing locally with the oldies band "Renegade" and statewide with the Irish Band "Rockall Country Club"
Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, William and Julia Brumbaugh and her brother William Brumbaugh.
Carolyn leaves behind her beloved husband of 23 years, Charles H. Gougeon, her beloved daughter, Dawn M. Duran, her stepson, Charles H. Gougeon, III both of Hopelawn, her six grandchildren; Ivan, Delvin, Kayla, Emma, Jill and Brooklyn, her sisters, Rosemary A. Campion of Ringoes and Patricia A. Cameron of Kenilworth and her brother, Robert Brumbaugh of Bordentown.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5-8 pm with a service at 7:45pm at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
