Caroline E. Terefenko, 92 of Fords, passed peacefully, surrounded with the love of her family at her side, on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Unit of the JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in and formerly of Perth Amboy, she had resided in Fords for the last 60 years.

She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption in Perth Amboy.

Caroline enjoyed going to craft shows and yard sales, watching Lawrence Welk on TV, and eating cheesecake and her Werther's Candies.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John, who died in 2006, her brothers; John, Michael, and Frank Matusek, and her sisters; Josephine Matusek, Theresa Trella, Rose Romaskiewicz and Mary Kuhne.

She leaves behind, her four beloved children; Carolyn of Matawan, John P. of South Plainfield, Patricia Colfer of Woodbridge and Bruce and his wife Jeanne, of Old Bridge, her 2 grandsons; Gregory Colfer and his girlfriend, Roxann Abline of Alburtis, PA and Christopher Colfer and his wife Kerri, of Douglassville, PA a great grandson, Gregory Nicholas Colfer and the family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of a second great grandson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to thank Caroline's caregiver for the last four plus years, Viktoriya "Sweetie" Kovalchuk for all her care and compassion she gave.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 3-7 pm, with a Parastas Service at 6:30 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from the Flynn and son Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. Service of Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Hopelawn.
