Carol Peterson, 89, of Perth Amboy died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born and raised in Woodbridge to the late Hans Peterson and Matilda Wodell and lived in Carteret for many years, before relocating to Perth Amboy for the last 54 years. Carol was a graduate of Woodbridge Highschool. She worked as a bookkeeper at Lolly Togs in South Plainfield for many years before her retirement. When she had free time, Carol enjoyed cooking and baking, doing her crosswords and her favorite puzzles. She took joy in crocheting blankets and scarves, painting and reading before bed.

Carol is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert Peterson (2012). She is survived by her six wonderful children, Lori Bender and her husband, Paul, of Avenel, Edward Peterson, of Perth Amboy, Robert Peterson and his wife, Valerie, of Somerset, Karl Peterson and wife, Therese Steen , of Charleston, NC, Gerald Peterson and his wife, Lynne, of Bound Brook, and Christian Peterson, of Perth Amboy; her sister Anita Southard, of Stafford, VA; her nine grandchildren; her six great grandchildren; along with many extended relatives and close friends.

A visitation will be on Thursday December 8, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Cremation will be held privately. Please keep the family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
