Edison - Carol R. Governale, 77, of Edison, passed away at JFK Medical Center on December 31, 2021. She was born on November 29, 1944, in New Brunswick. She was a Bus Aide for the Edison Township Board of Education. Carol was a member of the American Legion in Edison. She enjoyed going to the beach and sitting by the ocean. Carol loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Carol was predeceased by her two husbands, David Fitzgerald and James Governale.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Eosso, and her husband, Frank, of Edison and Cindy McNutly, of South Brunswick; a son, David Fitzgerald, and his wife, Christina, of Edison; and seven grandchildren: Patrick, Ronny, Jessica, David, Nicholas, Danica, and Chloe.

Cremation was private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Donations in Carol's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research hospital.
