Carol Ann Gerhold (nee: Shaw), 74, of Edison, passed away on May 10, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Queens, NY, and had resided in Edison for 21 years.

Carol was an Administrative Assistant for 14 years with Zurich American Insurance in Manhattan, retiring in 2006.

She was a communicant and an active member of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 2000; her daughter, Lori Ann Sulkoski; her parents, Edgar and Madeline Shaw; her siblings: Frank, James, Jesse, William, John, Harriet, Joan and Rose.

Surviving are her daughters: Tara Gerhold Kokollo and her husband, Alex, of San Antonio, TX and Susan Birkner and her husband, John, of Westwood, NJ; her grandchildren: Alejandro Lihuen, Paris, John Kyle and Robert, many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Spencer.

Funeral services will be at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Flynn and Son Funeral / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. A Funeral Liturgy will be said at 10:15 AM at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY. Viewing will be Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
