Obituary

Carmen La Rocco, 92, of Edison, died on August 12, 2014, at home peacefully with his family at his side. He was born on December 10, 1921, in South Plainfield. He has resided in Edison since 1958, where he and his wife Ethel built their own home. Carmen was a member of the Teamsters, he owned and operated his own dump truck and retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825, in 1986. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Crater AK 70 as a Coxswain.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ethel Kovacs La Rocco, in 1988; two brothers, Vincent La Rock and Leonard La Rocco; three sisters: Teresa La Rocco Denesevich, Elizabeth La Rocco, and Mary Karpowicz.
Carmen is survived by his two sons; Leonard Carmen La Rocco and his wife Linda, of Yucaipa, CA and William Ronald La Rocco and his wife Tamra of South Amboy; two daughters: Julianne La Rocco Kellar and her husband, Ralph, of Marion Center, PA and Loretta La Rocco Mathews and her husband, Glenn, of Edison; six grandchildren: Leonard Carmen La Rocco and his wife Kellie; Regina La Rocco; Frank Carmen Craig; Corinne Kaitlin Craig; Meredith Lee Mathews; and Jillian Paige Mathews; two great-grandchildren: Alyssa Smith La Rocco, and Lee Carmen La Rocco; and many nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, 6-9 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the, Grace Reformed Church in Edison.
