Obituary of Carmen Rey


Carmen Rey, 86, of Woodbridge, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway. Mrs. Rey was born in Havana, Cuba to the late Manuel and Irene Garcia and came to the U.S. in 1966. She had resided in Elizabeth before moving to Woodbridge ten years ago.
She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
Carmen was predeceased by her beloved husband Raul in 1994 and also by her sister Julia.
She is survived by her four sons: Manuel Amor of Stroudsburg, PA, Rolando Amor and wife Idania of Miami, FL, Raul Rey of Woodbridge, and Ramon Rey and wife Darlene of East Brunswick, her two daughters: Maria Cicalese and husband Thomas of Fords, and Maria Rosa Rey of Jackson, her sister: Luisa Polledo of Miami, FL, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:30 am mass in the Our Lady of Peace RC Church also in Fords. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Linden. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5-9 pm.
