Carmen Maria Perez, 78, of Vineland, NJ, passed peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, on October 12, 1940, she was formerly of Brooklyn, NY and Perth Amboy, NJ, before moving to Vineland 10 years ago.

Carmen was predeceased by her beloved parents; Juan Perez and Rosalia Irizarry, her beloved son, Juan Perez, who died in August of 1990, her beloved grandson, Angel Otero who died in August of 2016, and her two brothers, Jose and Juan Perez.

She leaves behind her two beloved daughters, Luz Vasquez, with whom she resided, and Elizabeth Otero and her husband Angel, of Old Bridge, her son, Luis Rivera and his wife, Lourdes Ruiz-Rivera of Carteret, NJ, her 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, along with her three sisters; Mirta and Rosalia Perez of Vineland and Rita Perez of Puerto Rico.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 5 pm to  9 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. With an additional visitation and funeral service, which will take place on Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am and lasting to 11:30 am with a graveside service at 1 pm at the Cemetery of the Evergreens, Brooklyn NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to her family to help with funeral expenses.
