Carlos Michael Anthony Serrano, 48, of Perth Amboy, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

Born in 1972 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. Carlos attended Most Holy Rosary Elementary School, then continued his education at St. Lawrence Seminary High School in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. After his graduation, Carlos enlisted in the United States Navy in 1990 and was assigned to the USS Austin, where he fought in Desert Storm, earning 2 Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged from service in 1993 and he went on to work in the Raritan Bay Hospitals, both Perth Amboy and Old Bridge, for many years. Carlos relocated to Florida for 10 years, then recently returned home to New Jersey to be close to his family.

Born to Sonia Gonzalez Padilla and the late Juan Pablo Gutierrez, Carlos was lovingly raised by his parents, Ana and the late Antonio Serrano. Carlos is also survived by his loving siblings, Antonio (Maurina) Serrano Jr., Michael (Rosemarie) Serrano, Teresa Serrano Jimenez, Ann Marie (Ali Jr.) Serrano-Rodriguez, Angelina Baksh, Jose Gutierrez, Maria Carpenter and Jacklyn Taylor, as well as many nieces and nephews.
