Bruce J.
Gregory
November 20, 1948 – December 11, 2024
Bruce J. Gregory, 76, of Edison, passed away after a well-fought battle with Cancer on December 11, 2024. Born in Perth Amboy on November 20, 1948, to Joseph and Mary Gregory (nee Bodnar), Bruce was an only child. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time on Long Beach Island and enjoyed crabbing.
Bruce's love of the sea continued throughout his life. He began his career on the waters of New York and New Jersey. In 1966, he worked on the Teal on Staten Island. In New Jersey, his love for the water continued as he worked part-time for the Captain John in Keyport and the Sea Pigeon in Perth Amboy. Away from the sea, Bruce worked with and was a member of the Local 65 Carpenter's Union in Perth Amboy. He ultimately found his vocation as a Firefighter with the Township of Edison. He was part of the Edison Fire Department team that responded to 9/11 and worked on the "Pile." He proudly served his community for 27 years and was honored to have his two sons follow in his footsteps.
Bruce leaves behind his loving wife, Mary, of 42 years; his two sons, Michael and his wife, Nicole, of Lincroft and Kurt and his wife, Taylor, also of Lincroft; and his beloved grandchildren: Shea, Erik, and Joseph.
