Bronislawa Koltunicki (nee Niziol), 87, of Hackettstown, NJ died November 19, 2010 at JFK Hospital in Edison.
Born December 6, 1922, in Warszawa, Poland, Broncia, as she was fondly called, traveled several continents during her lifetime. During World War II, her family, along with countless other war prisoners were deported to Arkhangelsk, a forced labor camp in the Siberian tundra. There they survived two years of extreme hardship. While there, she also met and married her husband, Bronislaw. The end of World War II found them traveling to England, Argentina, and finally the United States where they settled into a happy life.
Summers found Broncia traveling to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee to visit her daughter, Helen and grandsons, Nick, Brian, and Chris. They and their friends enjoyed Broncia's outstanding Polish dishes.
Broncia is predeceased by her husband, Bronislaw, and one sister, Michalina Balcer. Surviving family members include her sisters: Emilia Kulesza of Midlothian, VA, Jozia Zienkiewicz of Chesterfield, VA, Helena Lachocki of Wayne, NJ, and Gryzelda Lachocki of Edgewater, FL; her brother, Ted Niziol of Williamstown, NJ; her children: Robert Koltunicki and wife Jadwiga of Woodbridge, NJ, Helen Chomicki of Mount Juliet, TN, Regina Grotell and husband Elliot of Queens Village, NY; her grandchildren: Kristina Koltunicki and husband Craig Rinkerman of Brooklyn, NY, Matthew Koltunicki and LeeAnn Carroll of Edison, NJ; Nick Chomicki of Sherman Oaks, CA, Brian Chomicki and Chris Chomicki of Mt. Juliet, Tn; and a great-granddaughter, Makayla.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 24, from 2:00-4:00 pm, and 7:00–9:00 pm from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863, Telephone:(732) 826-0358. Interment will be Friday at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
