Blanche Lamprakos, 77, died at home on December 30, 2011. Born in New York City, she moved to Edison as a child and remained there for the rest of her life.

She received her B.A. from Douglas College and her M.A. from Rutgers University.

Blanche was a gifted teacher who, for over three decades, taught A.P. French and other classes at Edison High School. She traveled widely and was an avid gardener.

Blanche was loving wife to Peter Lamprakos for 53 years, mother to Michele Lamprakos, and mother-in-law to Steven Kramer. She was devoted to family, friends, and pets. Her dear friends, like Angela Sansotera, Marie LaDuca and Janice McElhiney, were her extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at 8:30 am from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863, followed by a 9:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Interment will follow in the Brig. General William C. Doyle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 2, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
