Blanca Chaviano, 93, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday July 11th, 2024 at home.

She was born in Placetas, Cuba. Blanca resided in Perth Amboy from 1975 until 1995 before moving to Old Bridge, and then lived in Monroe Township from 2017 until her passing.

She had a passion for education and was a teacher in Cuba. After immigrating to the US in 1970, she attended both Montclair University and Kean College to earn her Bachelor's degree and then her Master's degree. She was a teacher first in Perth Amboy and then in Carteret before she retired at 70.

Blanca was predeceased by her loving husband Orfilio. She leaves behind her beloved son Orfilio Chaviano Jr. and his wife Millie of Morris Plains, her daughter Elizabeth Barclay and her husband Brian of Monroe Township, her seven grandchildren, Tabitha (and her husband Jhovanny), Daniella, Kayla, Aidan, Dylan, Emily, and Kelsy, her great grandchildren Johan and Julianna, her sister and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 424 East Avenue Perth Amboy, New Jersey on Monday July 15th, 2024 from 9:30am until 11:30am with interment to follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
