Biagio
Buffolino
January 6, 1946 – June 13, 2024
Biagio Buffolino,78, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Durazzano, Campania, Italy, to Rocco and Gabriella (nee D'Angelo) Buffolino on January 6,1946.
In 1968, he married the love of his life, Giulia (nee Berlingieri) and he emigrated to the United States, making Hopelawn their home for 56 years. Upon arriving in New Jersey, Biagio worked for Raritan Copper Works (Anaconda) in Perth Amboy. He then worked at Gentek Building Products (Alcan Aluminum) in Avenel until the time of his retirement in 2008.
Biagio's greatest joys were his family, his faith, and his garden. Family and neighbors always gathered in the garage, where they talked, laughed, and had a glass of homemade wine (a passion that he had and made every year); the garage was open to everyone.
He was a life-long and very active member of Most Holy Rosary Church of the Good Shepard Parish in Hopelawn and a member of the Holy Name Society where he received the "Man of the Year" award. He could always be seen in the kitchen cooking for the yearly Festa of St. Anthony. He was a kind and generous man and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Biagio was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Gabriella Buffolino and his brother, Angelo Buffolino.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Giulia; his son, Rocco and his wife, Josephine (Jo); his daughter Gabriella Conrady and her husband, Charles; and his two adoring grandsons, Matthew and Michael Buffolino who affectionately called him "Nonno Biagio," all of South Brunswick Township. Biagio is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and wives in both Westbury, LI, and Middlesex County, NJ.
Relatives and friends can gather for visitation on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue Fords, NJ. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Rosary Church of the Good Shepard Parish in Hopelawn, NJ at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Biagio's name are requested to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
