Betty L. Roman, of Perth Amboy, passed away at home on September 28, 2025. She was born on March 13, 1940, in Manhattan. Betty graduated St. Mary's High School, Class of 1958.  She was the Senior Cashier at the Woodbridge Tax Office. Betty was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Perth Amboy where she taught CCD for many years. She was a member of the Woodbridge American Irish Club and was the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Keasbey Fire Department.  Betty enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with her husband.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen J. Roman, in 2020; two brothers, William and Leroy Handerhan; and a sister, Linda Hallock.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Hope Kondrk and her husband, Robert, of Fords; two brothers, Richard Handerhan of Fishersville, VA, and Jeffrey Handerhan of Perth Amboy; and a beloved goddaughter, Diana Quinlan and her husband, Mark, of Vero Beach, FL.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4;00-8;00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral Services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St Michael's Cemetery.
