Bernice Ann Rakauskas, 75 years, of Edison, passed peacefully, with the love of her family at her side, on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Haven Hospice unit at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Scranton, PA, she had resided in Edison for over 60 years.
She was employed for over 30 years in the Registrar Office, at Rutgers University Busch Campus in Piscataway, NJ, before retiring in 2011.
She was a communicant of The Transfiguration of the Lord Parish attending The Church of the Guardian Angel in Edison.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas who died in 1996.
Bernice leaves behind her beloved daughter, Cheryl Ann Uribe and her son in law Omar, of Colleyville, TX, her two beloved sons; Thomas A. and her daughter-in-law Cheryl Ann of Bordentown, NJ and Gregory A. and daughter-in-law Sylvia, of Readington, NJ, her four cherished grandchildren, Alexandra and Adrianna Uribe and Marissa and Sophia Rakauskas, her dear brothers and sisters-in-law; Joe and Lorraine, Fred and Ginny and Pete and Bob.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2pm to 6pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at the Church of the Guardian Angel, 37 Plainfield Ave. Edison, NJ 08817. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
