Barry F. Berman, 81, of Union Beach NJ, formerly of Metuchen, NJ, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.  He was born on May 6, 1945, in Perth Amboy, NJ. Barry was the proud founder of the legendary Fords Jewelers and took joy in humbly serving the community for 55 years.

Throughout his life, Barry collected classic automobiles and vintage memorabilia as well as attended many car shows where he displayed his award-winning cars, sharing his love for them with others. He was a Master Mason and philanthropist. Barry loved going to diners and family gatherings, traveling and his dog, Sasha. Barry was an avid fan and supporter of the New Jersey Devils. He also held the distinction of being inducted into the Edison High School Hall of Honor recognizing his entrepreneurship.

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Sadie Berman, and a brother, Hartley Berman.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Berman, of Union Beach, NJ; his son, Mark Berman, and his wife, Kristin, of Metuchen, NJ; his daughter, Natalie Schulz, and her husband, Chuck, of Metuchen, NJ; his stepson, Jason Rubino, and his wife, Trisha, of Brentwood, TN; his stepdaughter, Michelle Corcoran, and her husband, Martin, of Neptune, NJ; and his eight grandchildren, Samantha, Owen, Frederic, Giovanni, Sophia, Julia, Kai, and Colleen.

The family will receive mourners on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 10 am to 12 noon at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.

Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Dr., Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
