Barbara Ann Veit, 73, of Fords, died Wednesday February 16, 2022, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Brooklyn New York to the late Mildred Flynn and William John Veit Sr., Barbara and her family moved to Fords, NJ in 1961.  She attended Our Lady of Peace grammar school, and received her high school diploma from John F. Kennedy High School. Barbara worked for Woodbridge Township, first as a court clerk, and during her long career, Barbara worked her way up to the title of Court Administrator. She worked for Woodbridge Township for over 47 years before her retirement.  A fixture in the Woodbridge Municipal Building, Barbara forged many relationships with her captivating smile, sweet manner, and loving heart.

In her free time, Barbara spoiled her niece Allison and nephew Billy with trips to Toys 'R Us, and the movies.  She would soon continue spreading that love to her FIVE great nephews, who were like grandchildren to her. When she wasn't sponsoring and arranging the annual family vacation to Cape May, Barbara loved collecting Ana Lee Dolls, babysitting Kieran, Sean, Thomas, Cassidy, and Bo, and eating a good piece of Prime Rib at Charlie Brown's Steakhouse. Barbara was a devout Catholic who made it to Mass every week despite her mounting health challenges later in life. A truly loving spirit, Barbara touched everyone she came in contact with positively, and made everyone lucky enough to meet her, feel special.

Barbara is survived by her brother William "Bill" Veit Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; her nephew, Billy Veit and his wife, Kristina; her niece, Allison Koenke and her husband, Kenneth; and her great nephews, Kieran Koenke, Sean Koenke, Thomas Koenke, Cassidy Veit, and Bo Veit.

A visitation will be held on Monday February 21, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue Fords, NJ 08863.  A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, 620 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ 08837, on Tuesday February 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., family and friends are welcome to gather in the funeral home starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia.

At the request of the family masks must be worn in the funeral home to attend services.
