Barbara Joan Nielsen, 91, of Howell, NJ, passed unexpectedly at the CentraState Medical Center, in Freehold, NJ. She was born on January 4, 1935, on Staten Island, NY. Barbara Joan was raised on Staten Island, was formerly of Perth Amboy, NJ, the Iselin section of Woodbridge Twp., Sayreville, and the State of Maine.  She had resided in Howell for the last 31 years.  Barbara was a proud graduate of St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy with the Class of 1953.

She retired in 1985 as a Bookkeeper with the Amerada-Hess Corporation in Woodbridge. She was a sweet and hard working woman.  Barbara loved cats, especially her cats "Boo," "Canyon," and "Autumn Angel."

She was predeceased by beloved husband, Einar Nielsen, who died in 1995 and her three siblings: Florence Crabtree, Vernon de Csipkes, and Edward de Csipkes.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Eugene "Gene" Janosko, of Southampton, NJ; Barbara Lynn Janosko of Howell, NJ; and her step-daughter, Lori Boysen of Freehold.  Also surviving are her many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private cremation will be entrusted to the care of the the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.

Entombment of her cremated remains will take place at the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Save U.S. Pets Foundation.
