Barbara Ann Gadek, 84, of Edison, passed away at home on January 18, 2024. She was born on December 31, 1939, in Perth Amboy. Barbara was a Teacher at the Woodrow Wilison Middle School in Edison, teaching English, and was also active as an advisor with Student Government. Barbara graduated from Newark State College, Class of 1962. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church. She was devoted to her family and loved her grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Edwin J. Gadek in 2011 and a son, Edwin Gadek, in 1969.

She is survived by a daughter, Nicole McDonald, and her husband, Jim, of New Hope, PA; two sons, Craig Gadek, of Edison and Matthew Gadek, and his wife, Maria, of Harrison, NJ; four grandchildren: Edwin, Anna, Mary, and Peter; and a sister, Joan VanPelt, and her husband, William, of Edison.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2024, 4-7pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.

Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church.

Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park.
