Barbara Jean "Jeanie" Bayus, 75, of Colonia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 15, 2024. She was born on September 7, 1949, in Elizabeth, NJ.

Jeanie worked for years as a Legal Secretary, but her favorite job by far was being a loving wife and a mother. Jeanie had a passion for travel and always enjoyed the culture and customs of wherever she went.  She also had a fondness for her many pets throughout the years and leaves behind her loyal cat; Shirley, who never left her side.

Jeanie will always be remembered for her bubbly personality and had a way of making everyone she met feel special, as if they have known each other forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Bayus, of Colonia; her daughter, Jessica Bayus, of Sewaren; two sisters, Rosemary Quarino, and her husband, Tony, of Waxhaw, NC;  Patricia Stawicki, and her husband, Michael, of Woodbridge; a brother, Joseph Shurack, and his wife, Lynn, of Lancaster, SC and many nieces and nephews. Jeanie was predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Esther Shurack.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4pm-8pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will be on Friday, and will begin at 9:15am at the funeral home, followed by a 10am Funeral Liturgy at St. John Vianney Church. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Memorial contributions in Jeanie's name may be made to Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research.
