Awilda "Mama" Martinez Maldonado, 70, of Perth Amboy, passed away on March 8, 2015, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. She was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, and has resided in Perth Amboy for 47 years. She was a homemaker and a communicant at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Awilda was predeceased by her sister, Zenaida Martinez Crespo. Surviving are her husband, Daniel, married 47 years; her son, Serafin of North Brunswick; her daughters: Blanca of Perth Amboy, Awilda of Perth Amboy, and Illiana of Avenel; grandchildren: Amanda, Reinaldo, Johnathan, Kayla, Arianna, Justin, Yajaria, and Gabriella; great-grandson, Joseph; her siblings: Jimmy, Daniel, Pedro, Serafin, Enrique, Brunilda, Eminilda, and Milagros; and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Flynn and Son Funeral, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, with a funeral liturgy at 10 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery. Viewing will be today (Thursday), 6-9 PM.
