Áurea Perez, age 86, passed away peacefully on 7/05/2026 in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Born on 7/23/1939 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico, Aurea lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. She worked as a paraprofessional for 11 years at the Perth Amboy BOE and was known for kindness and helpfulness.

Aurea is survived by Gregorio Pérez, daughter Wanda Lopez, son Joel Perez: on-in-laws Juan Lopez and John Entzminger; siblings Celsa Ortiz, Pablo Garcia, Aida Garcia, Sigfredo Garcia, grandchildren Yvonne, Yvette, Desiree, Jovanna, Kiana, Johnny and great grandchildren Zaria, Anyce, Andre, Mya, Penelope, Liana, Cameron and Amaris. She was preceded in death by daughter Yolanda Entzminger.

Those who knew Aurea will remember her for her LOVE of food!! Also, for her love of bingo and her trips to AC. She enjoyed spending time with family and a good game of dominos. Making pasteles was a holiday past time we will always remember. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Family and friends may visit at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service commencing at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Alpine Cemetery, Amboy Ave., Perth Amboy
