Audrey Sorensen, of Edison, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the Haven Hospice Unit at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Twp., she had resided in Edison since 1957.
She was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, with the class of 1946.
Upon her graduating from the Barbizon School of Modeling,
She became a runway model for clothing designers in New York City.
She later became the executive secretary to the president of White Westinghouse in Edison for many years.
She was also a talented piano and organ player and held organ classes in her home for many years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Einer Sorensen, who died in 2010 and her beloved son, Glen Sorensen, who died in 1995.
Audrey leaves behind her beloved daughter Gail Drew and her son-in-law, Joseph of Edison, her four cherished grandchildren; Kristin Bauer and her husband Kenneth, of East Brunswick, Kaitlin Penna and her husband Eric, of Edison, Michael Drew and his wife Erin, of Austin, Texas and Timothy Drew and his wife Emy, of Stockton, four great-grandchildren, a devoted sister, Geraldine Ritter of Blufton, SC, and her faithful cat "Sweetie".
A celebration of Audrey's life will take place on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 2pm to 4 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave. Metuchen, NJ, 08840.
Her cremated remains will be laid to rest beside her late husband, at the Danish Home in Edison.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
