Arthur Kessler 91, formerly of Monroe Township, entered into eternal rest, Saturday February 16, 2013 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was formerly of Highland Park for 29 years and Monroe Township for 23 years, before residing at the N.J. Veterans Home in Menlo Park.
Arthur owned the Miener and Boardman Card Shop in New Brunswick, and "The Card Store" in Woodbridge and Linden before retiring in 1995.
He was an Army veteran of WW II, he received a Bronze Star, and served under General George Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. After his military service he served as past commander of the Highland Park Post of the Jewish War Veterans.
Arthur was predeceased by his wife Mildred in 2004 and his daughter Pamela Ring in 1999. He is survived by his daughter Shelley Miller and her husband Craig Hollingsworth of Fords, his grandchildren Dr. Laurence E. Ring and his wife Rachel, Scott M. Ring and his wife Janine, Joshua Miller and his wife Elizabeth, and Mackenzie Miller, and his great grandchildren Persephone and Archer Ring.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords with Rabbi Alfred Landsberg officiating. Interment will be in Beth Israel Memorial Park.
