Arnold R.
Csipo
December 11, 1932 – June 17, 2023
Arnold R. Csipo, 90, of Edison passed away on June 17, 2023, at Brighton Gardens in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy on December 11, 1932, to Louis and Helen Csipo. He was raised and lived in Perth Amboy for many years before moving to Edison. He also lived in Monroe for 20 years. Arnold attended Perth Amboy High School and was a 1955 graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He owned and operated the Louis Csipo, Inc. Travel & Insurance Agency, Perth Amboy for over 40 years.
A man of great faith, Arnold was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy for over 50 years, ultimately serving as Church Board President. He was a donor and volunteer at the John Calvin Church and the Magyar Reformed Church, both also in Perth Amboy. In the late 80's, Arnold joined the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen where he was a beloved member and volunteer up until the time of his passing. Helping at their food pantry gave him great joy and purpose. Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monroe was also dear to his heart, especially their Men's Bible Group.
Arnold was a respected landlord as well as past President of the Perth Amboy Kiwanis Club. Above his professional achievements, his family was his biggest pride and joy. With the love of his life, Margaret, at his side for 50 years, they successfully raised a family and provided the best education for their two children. Annual vacations to Wildwood Crest and the Poconos were cherished. A simple and humble man, Arn's biggest luxuries in life were a bowl of ice cream, breakfast at Perkins, and a long walk in the rain with a sturdy umbrella.
Arnold was predeceased by his wife Margaret Csipo in 2013 and his sister Vilma Calhoun in 2017.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela Elmi of Hamilton NJ, his son Kenneth Csipo, daughter-in-law Dawn Csipo, and Grandson Tatum Csipo of Elkhorn NE, and many cousins, nephews, one niece, six great-grandnephews, and six great-grandnieces in NJ, PA, NY, MA, IN, and CA.
