Arnold Joseph
"Bacci" Bacigalupo
July 31, 1932 – July 9, 2022
Arnold Joseph "Bacci" Bacigalupo, 89, of Somerset, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Dozolina Bacigalupo, he resided there until 1973. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of a Korean Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a UN Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1961.
Arnold received a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University in 1963. After meeting in Spring Lake, NJ, he married the love of his life, Christine "Christina" Fiaccabrino in 1964. Together they resided and started their family in Brooklyn and ultimately settled on Staten Island. He was there for 32 years until he moved to New Jersey to be closer to his daughter. Arnold spent all of his working years in the same industry, last employed as an Import Operations Manager and Licensed Customs Freight Broker with Compass Forwarding in Jamaica, New York, prior to his retirement in 2012 at the age of almost 80.
His wife and daughter were his whole world. They would spend summers vacationing in the Poconos, Wildwood, NJ and Humarock, MA. He and his wife did everything together; they were hardly ever in 2 places at the same time. They enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, shopping and dining out. He was a big fan of the NY Yankees, Rangers and Giants. His only hobby was doing for and being with his family. The birth of his grandchildren later brought him the ultimate joy, allowing him to continue his generous and loving ways.
Arnold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Christine (nee: Fiaccabrino) in 1995, his father Joseph, mother Dozolina ("Elizabeth"), and brother Raymond. He was survived by his daughter, Lisa Pedulla, her husband Joseph (both of Monroe Township, NJ), and his 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Vincent, Ian and Christina.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 2:00-4:30 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.
