Obituary

Arline (Miljes) Rask, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Edison on March 1, 2021.

Upon graduating from Perth Amboy High School, Arline began working at the Middlesex Water Company and successfully held administrative and managerial positions until her retirement in 1987.  She cherished her time there, making many longtime friends.

Arline met and married her soulmate and forever best friend, Lou Rask, to whom she was married for 70 years, before his passing in March 2019.  Arline and Lou loved each other unconditionally, loved to travel and explore the country; especially their trips to San Francisco, Cape May and Lancaster.  They enjoyed family gatherings and loved spending time with the generations.  Their dedication to each other inspired many and they were true role models.

Born to the late John Miljes and Mary Larsen Miljes, Arline suffered the tragic loss of her young brother, "Junior" way too soon, leaving a lasting hole in her heart.

Arline has painfully missed her "sister from another mother", Pauline Carstensen, first cousins, friends since birth, true Danes at heart, who spent many childhood and adult experiences together with memories too numerous to list, but always enjoyed and treasured.

Arline is survived by her loving and loyal "Staten Island Crew"; Joan and Jack Chapman; John and Maryann Carstensen; and Caryl and Keith Comeforo. As well as Lou's devoted nephew, Robert Rask and his wife, Palma.  Many great memories of their children filled Arline's and Lou's hearts always inspiring many laughs and pride - Julie Chapman and her fiancé, Angelo Stallone; Jack Chapman and his wife, Emily; John Carstensen and his fiancée, Victoria Giordano; Amy Carstensen and her fiancé, Adam Dewey, and their son, Gavin; Keith Comeforo and his wife, Julie, and their daughter, Mackenzie; Kara Brower and her husband, Dave, and their son, Jacob; Kristofer Comeforo and Robert Rask, Jr. She also leaves behind truly trusted friends, Jimmy and Louise Hamilton.

We are forever grateful for the loving and consistent care of Lynn, a trusted caretaker and companion, loved by all.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:30 am.
