Arlene P. Schicker 76, of Fords, entered into eternal rest, Sunday April 20, 2014 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fords and was a life long resident of the community.

Arlene was a Guidance Counselor and Algebra teacher at Fords Middle School and Woodbridge High School for over 30 years before retiring in 1992. She then worked for the Central Jersey Federal Credit Union for 20 years before retiring in 2012.

Arlene had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Peace R C Church in Fords where she worshiped all of her life and volunteered in many capacities for more then 50 years.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy and Georgian Court College where she remained an active Alumnus. Arlene enjoyed traveling, the theatre, and Atlantic City.

Arlene was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Albert Schicker, and her sisters Grace Holzheimer and Betty Balint. She is survived by seven nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews and ten great great nieces and nephews. She will be remembered and missed dearly by her many friends and co-workers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 25, 2014 at 10 am at the Flynn and son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:30 funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace School Endowment Fund or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
